I build consumer-focused websites with HTML, CSS, jQuery, PHP, JavaScript and Magento. Most of my work is ecommerce: storefronts and back ends that have to hold up under real traffic, real catalogues and real payment volume, on desktop and on mobile.

Day to day that means translating a business requirement into working code — custom modules, third-party APIs, payment gateways and database work — while keeping design, usability and page speed to a standard I'd be happy to put my name on.

I've shipped for agencies and product teams since 2016, currently at Native Brand Technologies. I take on freelance builds too, from a single Magento module to a full store launch and the AWS setup behind it.

A task and team-visibility portal for small and growing companies, where one manager carries the whole team and there is no project office to run the reporting. Work, hours and availability sit on one screen, so who is busy, who has room and what has slipped are visible the moment the page loads.

Who is buried this week?

Hours sit in a spreadsheet nobody opens until payroll, so work goes to whoever replies fastest instead of whoever has room.

Is this actually finished?

"Done" means something different to each person. Tasks close with steps skipped, and the gaps surface later as customer complaints.

Did we ever fix that?

Problems get solved once in a chat thread and forgotten. The same fault returns next quarter with nobody able to say what was done last time.

What a manager sees

  • Where every task stands Five stages from Open to Closed, filtered by project or by person, with slipped dates flagged in red.
  • Who has room this week Hours booked per person per day with a utilisation figure, so the next job goes to whoever is free rather than whoever answers first.
  • Whether the work is really finished Each team's checklist has to be cleared before a task can close, so "done" means the same thing to everyone.
  • Performance without a spreadsheet On-time delivery scored from closed work, and monthly KPIs weighted, approved and filed in the portal.
  • Problems that stay fixed Root cause and corrective action kept against the task that caused them, with overdue actions flagged.

Team visibility, not surveillance

An employee sees their own tasks, their own hours and their own score. A manager sees the team. Access is granted menu by menu, per person, so a small company hands out exactly as much visibility as it wants and no more.
